Watch the video to find out why AltraGrips Lite Low Profile are the easiest ice cleats to live with...
AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats are the solution for a big problem. Ask anyone who uses ice cleats... spiked or spikeless... and they'll tell you the biggest problem with wearing ice traction devices on your shoes is that you constantly have to be putting them on and taking them off. That's because devices using coils are extremely slippery on smooth floors or outdoor surfaces like marble or even the sewer grates when you step off a curb.
Devices with longer spikes will damage floors and again are very slippery whenever there's metal to metal contact. Many ice cleat manufacturers recommend not wearing them while driving. While this is a hassle for everyone it's a big problem for many people have physical problems that prevent them from doing this no matter how easy they are to put on and take off. Here's why AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats are the answer...
AltraGrips Lite have 16 1mm tungsten carbide spikes that extend slightly beyond the tread. As a result both the tread and the spike come in contact with the surface. The spikes still dig into the ice... including black ice... giving you excellent traction and the aggressive tread works great in packed snow, deep snow.
You get far better traction on interior floors and... unless you intentionally shimmy your feet... without damaging the floor. You have to exercise common sense so you wouldn't walk on a finished hardwood floor for fear of damaging it. But you're perfectly OK wearing AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats while walking in the grocery or drug store and it's safe to wear them when you drive. This is the only ice traction device I'm aware of that gives you this kind of convenience.
AltraGrips Lite give you traction on slippery surfaces other than just ice, snow and slush.
AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats are called All-Traction Footwear because they give you traction on more than just ice and packed snow. AltraGrips Lite Low Profile give you the best balance of effectiveness and convenience...
AltraGrips Lite are extremely easy to put on your shoes and boots because...
The device fits over the front of your shoe. It's obvious when you have it right and very secure.
The patented Dual Pull Tab allows you to use two hands if necessary to pull the device back and over your heel. This is particularly helpful for people with weakness in there hands. But having said most of us can simply grab one of the tabs with no problem at all.
The patented Dual Density Construction Design makes the rubber thicker where it needs to be thicker for purposes of durability and thinner on the middle where the is little contact with the ground making it easier to stretch.
You'll get good wear because the spikes are made from tungsten carbide and the rest is made from a tough real rubber compound. You'll feel the quality the second you pick it up.
They stay firmly in place. But I recommend buying the optional Ankle Strap.
If there is one thing I've learned over the years selling ices traction devices is that it is possible to "walk out of them" especially in a deep wet snow. They're too expensive to lose so the Ankle Straps are a good investment.
Your AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats will not seriously injure you in a fall because the spikes are just 1mm long. That's important because no one can
guarantee you won't fall no matter what ice traction device you're wearing.
You can roll them up and carry them in your pocket because the spikes are only 1mm. They're heavier duty and take up more space than Yaktrax but it's not as big an issue because most of the time your AltraGrips Lite Low Profile Ice Cleats are on your feet. There is a rather expensive carrying bag you can but separately
and put on your belt but it's "industrial strength" and will last forever.
AltraGrips are manufactured in the USA.

Method 2 Illustrated...
There are two methods to select the correct size AltraGrips Lite...
Obviously you can go by the shoe sizes. But the actual size of the shoe or boot can vary greatly for the same show size. So here's another way to check.
(OR)
Measure the length of the shoe or boot you want to put AltraGrips on. Then select the size AltraGrips with a length about 1 inch SHORTER than the length of your shoe or boot... because you want it to stretch.

How to Use the Ankle Straps...
Although AltraGrips Lite are rock solid and stay on your shoes extremely well I highly recommend getting the ankle straps. If there is one thing I've learned over the years selling ice traction devices is that there always seems to be a way of walking out of ice traction devices in a deep wet snow. They're too expensive lose and the ankle straps are a good investment.
