"Hurricane Safety Tips - Add a Screaming Meanie 220 Audio Locator Beacon and self-powered emergency radio/flashlight to your hurricane preparedness kit..." |
|
Hurricane predictions indicate another rough hurricane season ahead. A recent segment on CNN suggested hurricane safety tips. They suggested hurricane preparedness planning include placing a simple whistle in your hurricane emergency kit. You include a whistle in case you become trapped in debris or in a flood so you can alert emergency personnel where to find you.
But if you're trapped, you might not be in physical condition to blow a whistle. You may loose consciousness. Depending on how long you are trapped you might not be awake when rescuers are nearby. I sell a product that is a perfect solution to the problem and might, God willing, save some lives. The Screaming Meanie 220 is powered by a 9v battery and has a Sound Beacon feature which automatically sounds a 120dB audio signal for 10 seconds every five minutes. 120 dB is extremely very loud and can be heard up to a mile away. Certainly there is a much better chance of it being heard than a simple whistle. You don't have to be conscious to operate the signal. Of course you have to be conscious to turn it on. There is a built-in battery tester to insure that your unit is ready for a hurricane. If you live or have family living in areas subject to hurricane, tornado or earthquake disasters I urge you to buy Screaming Meanie 220's. Tell your friends and neighbors. I'm not suggesting that you exclude the whistle from your hurricane preparedness kit because the whistle is a great backup if your Screaming Meanie is damaged in the hurricane. Have both! Effective hurricane preparedness and safety requires that you take every precaution possible.Another key consideration for your hurricane preparedness is having the ability to stay in communication to receive emergency information and to simply be able to see to move around. I offer emergency crank radios and flashlights from Eton and Freeplay. |
