  If there is no sun you simply use the hand crank. Winding the crank for one minute gives 20 minutes of radio and 30 minutes of light. 
   
  You crank less than with other hand crank radios because Freeplay's charging dynamo is an incredibly efficient patented design that converts 74% of the kinetic energy into stored electrical energy.
  
• You can charge your cell phone because there's a built-in cell phone charger...
   
  Wind the hand crank for about one minute of cell phone usage. Or you can continue to crank while you're using the cell phone a just keep talking.
